URGOCLEAN PAD Description The UrgoClean Pad dressing consists of an absorbent pad of cohesively arranged polyacrylate fibers coated with a TLC (lipid-colloidal technology) matrix. The TLC matrix is composed of liquid paraffin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), and polymers. Indicated for the dressing and treatment of exuding skin lesions. Intended for use throughout the healing process: both on lesions covered by fibrin (yellowish deposit on the wound bed) and on lesions covered by granulation tissue (red tissue present on the wound bed). For heavily exuding wounds (i.e. wounds with a high amount of fluid), UrgoClean Pad can be covered with an additional absorbent dressing. UrgoClean Pad must be secured with a dressing fixation system (e.g. fixation tape, tubular bandage or mesh or adhesive dressing). UrgoClean Pad is not intended for use on wounds with necrotic plaque. How to use UrgoClean Pad can be applied by a healthcare professional, a family member or by the patient themselves, if they have been previously trained and supervised by a healthcare professional. 1. Wash your hands with soap and water, then dry them with a clean cloth. Alternatively, disinfect your hands with a hydroalcoholic solution or gel. 2. wear disposable medical gloves. 3. Prepare the wound according to the usual treatment protocol. The use of the UrgoClean Pad does not replace wound cleansing if fibrin (a yellowish deposit) is present, if deemed necessary by the healthcare provider. The wound may appear larger after the fibrin is removed. After cleaning the wound, gently dry the periwound skin with a sterile compress. 4. Remove disposable medical gloves. 5. Check that the sterility pouch of the UrgoClean Pad has not been damaged or opened before use. If so, use a new dressing. 6. Open the UrgoClean Pad package along its entire length, without touching the dressing. Do not remove the UrgoClean Pad from the package at this stage. 7. Put on a new pair of disposable medical gloves. 8. Take the UrgoClean Pad, avoiding touching the outside of the package. 9. UrgoClean Pad may be cut with sterile scissors if this makes it easier to apply and secure the dressing. 10. To facilitate application, remove one of the two protective films of the compress, start applying the dressing from the side free from the protection and then remove the second film and apply it completely. 11. For heavily exuding wounds (i.e. wounds with a high amount of fluid), cover the UrgoClean Pad with an additional absorbent dressing secured with a dressing fixation system (e.g., if the covering dressing is not self-adhesive, with fixation tape, bandage or tubular mesh). Apply a compression system, where compression therapy has been prescribed. When a foot offloading device is prescribed or recommended, arrange for the offloading system. The frequency of change should be assessed by a healthcare professional. However, it is recommended to change the UrgoClean Pad dressing every 1-2 days and then adjust the frequency based on clinical assessment of the wound and the level of exudate (the amount of fluid that forms in the wound), without exceeding 7 days of application per dressing. It is recommended to continue treatment with UrgoClean Pad until the wound is completely epithelized (i.e. until the wound closes). Warnings The wound should be medically assessed before treatment with the UrgoClean Pad dressing. Patients who experience signs or symptoms of infection before or during the use of the UrgoClean Pad, such as erythema (redness of the skin around the wound), edema (swelling), warmth or pain in the wound area, fever, enlargement of the wound, foul odor from the wound, or excessive exudate (formation of large amounts of fluid in the wound), should consult a healthcare professional so that the problem can be treated appropriately. Do not use if the sterility-maintaining packaging of the UrgoClean Pad has been damaged or opened before use. Do not use a previously used UrgoClean Pad. Do not use previously cut pieces of UrgoClean Pad, as the sterile state is not maintained, any unused cut pieces of UrgoClean Pad dressing must be disposed of. Do not resterilize. Do not use after the expiration date. Using the UrgoClean Pad beyond the expiration date or if sterility has not been maintained before use or, in the event of resterilization, does not guarantee its performance and exposes the patient to the risk of infection. Format 5 pieces of 10 x 10 cm. Cod. 603357
