Nu-Gel Hydrogel Description Transparent, hydroactive amorphous hydrogel containing sodium alginate that gently and effectively debrides necrotic wound tissue and fibrinous necrotic tissue. Nu-Gel hydrogel with alginate creates a moist wound healing environment, which aids natural autolytic debridement by promoting moist wound healing, while the alginate component improves its absorption capacity. The gel can also be used to soften and moisten eschar, facilitating rehydration. Nu-Gel Hydrogel is indicated for the debridement and removal of wound slough along with the management of chronic wounds during all phases of the healing process. How to use 1. Clean the wound thoroughly. 2. Remove the label from the accordion package by pulling the label as shown. 3. Remove the cap and swab the nozzle with a suitable antiseptic swab. 4. Twist to remove the tab. Nu-Gel Hydrogel can be applied to the wound simply using one hand. - Hold the accordion-shaped pack in one hand and apply Nu-Gel Hydrogel to the wound site, applying even pressure to the base of the pack with your thumb or palm. Keep the tip of the nozzle away from the wound surface. - Apply Nu-Gel Hydrogel to the entire wound to a depth of at least ¼ inch (5 mm). - Cover with a secondary dressing appropriate to the level of exudate. - Any unused gel should be thrown away. Application time: from a minimum of 1 day to a maximum of 3 days.
