Limited sun exposure, working indoors, and inadequate dietary intake can cause a deficiency or increased requirement. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of healthy bones and teeth and normal muscle function. It also contributes to the normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus and the normal function of the immune system. Each tablet contains 50 mcg of vitamin D, equivalent to 2,000 IU. The International Unit (IU) is a unit of measurement that indicates the quantity of a substance based on its effect. 1 IU of vitamin D3 is equivalent to 0.025 mcg of the substance. Ingredients Bulking agents: microcrystalline cellulose, cellulose gel, dicalcium phosphate; vitamin D (cholecalciferol); anti-caking agents: silicon dioxide, magnesium salts of fatty acids.
