Description Flax seeds ( Lini semen ) are a medicinal product in the form of a loose herb for infusion, used as a protective agent and supportive for mild gastrointestinal complaints. The medicinal product can be used by adults and children over 12 years of age. Composition The active substance is flax seed ( Lini Semen ). 1 g of product contains 1 g of flax seeds. Dosage Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. The medicinal product is administered orally in the form of a freshly prepared decoction. Preparation of decoction: pour 1 glass (250 ml) of water over ½ to 1 tablespoon (approximately 5-10 mg) of flax seeds and boil for 15 minutes, then cool and strain. A 30-60 minute time interval should be maintained between taking other medications and the product.Adults and children over 12 years of age: drink 1 glass of fresh, warm, strained decoction 2 to 3 times a day. If symptoms worsen or last longer than 1 week, consult your doctor. Indications supportive in mild digestive tract complaints, a digestive tract protectant. Contraindications When not to use Flax seeds : hypersensitivity to flax seeds, in case of intestinal obstruction of any origin, a sudden change in bowel habits or stool appearance lasting longer than 2 weeks (e.g., pencil-shaped stools), narrowing of the esophagus, cardia or other part of the digestive tract, swallowing problems. Side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The medicinal product Flax seeds may cause the following side effects: flatulence, in very rare cases - hypersensitivity reaction. Warnings and precautionsFlax seeds should not be used in case of: constipation, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. The medicinal product has an estrogenic effect, so its use is not recommended in women with hormone-dependent cancers. As a mucilage agent, it reduces the resorption of other medicinal substances, so a 30 to 60 minute break should be maintained between the use of other drugs and the product. Storage: Store the medicine at a temperature below 30°C, in a closed container. The product should be protected from light, moisture and other odors. Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Use of other medications Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Flax seeds may interact with: drugs that slow down intestinal peristalsis (e.g. opioids or loperamide). Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. The medicinal product is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use of the drug in children and adolescents Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
