Target species: Dogs Waist: Average Indications: For use in dogs, against flea and/or tick infestations, when repellent (anti-feeding) activity is required, also against sand flies and/or mosquitoes. Against fleas: Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis). Existing fleas on dogs are killed within 24 hours of treatment. One treatment has persistent efficacy against subsequent infestations with adult fleas for four weeks. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), where this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian. Against ticks: Treatment of tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus). One treatment provides persistent acaricidal efficacy for four weeks against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus). If certain species of ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus or Rhipicephalus sanguineus) are present at the time of application, there is a possibility that not all of them will be killed within the first 48 hours. Sand flies and mosquitoes One treatment has repellent (anti-feeding) activity against sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) and mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes aegypti) for four weeks. Active substances: Fipronil, Permethrin Amounts to administer: For external use only. Spot-on use Dosage: The recommended dose is a minimum of 6.7 mg fipronil/kg body weight and 60 mg permethrin/kg body weight. Dogs weight Fipronil (mg) Permethrin (mg) 1.5 - 4 kg 28.6 240 4 - 10 kg 67 600 10 - 20 kg 134 1200 20 - 40 kg 268 2400 40 - 60 kg 402 3600 For dogs weighing more than 60 kg, an appropriate combination of pipettes will be used. Method of administration: Remove the pipette from the over-blister. Hold the pipette in a vertical position. Tap the narrow end of the pipette gently to ensure that all the contents are in the body of the pipette. Break off the pre-cut end of the spot-on pipette along the marked line. Make a path through the pets fur until the skin becomes visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and press gently a few times to empty the contents into two to four different spots, depending on the weight of the pet, along the pets back to the base of the tail. For guidance, in dogs under 20 kg the product should be applied in two places, and in those over 20 kg the product should be applied in 2-4 places. Drop-stop system.Treatment regimen: The use of the product should be based on confirmation of infestation, or risk of infestation, with fleas and/or ticks, when repellent (anti-feeding) activity is required against sand flies and/or mosquitoes. Depending on the ectoparasite load, the responsible veterinarian may recommend repeating the treatment. The interval between 2 treatments must be at least 4 weeks. Route of administration: Topical Special warnings for each target species: The veterinary medicinal product remains effective after exposure to sunlight or if the animal gets wet after rain. Avoid immersing treated dogs in water or frequent shampooing as this may affect the maintenance of the products effectiveness. A dog with fleas may have an allergic reaction to flea saliva called Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD). If your dog has skin inflammation, itching and biting, is scratching excessively and is restless and uncomfortable, you should seek the advice of a veterinarian to diagnose whether your pet is suffering from FAD. To reduce re-infestation by the appearance of new fleas, it is recommended to treat all animals living in the same household. Other animals living in the same household should be treated with an appropriate product. Pet fleas frequently infest the animals bedding, the places where they usually sleep and rest, such as carpets and soft furnishings, which should be treated in case of massive infestation with an appropriate insecticide and vacuumed regularly. It is possible to get a tick attached or to get bitten by sand flies or mosquitoes. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases by these parasites cannot be ruled out under unfavorable conditions. Studies have shown an anti-feeding effect lasting 4 weeks for sand flies and mosquitoes. Therefore, for short-term travel (less than 4 weeks) to endemic areas, it is recommended to administer the treatment shortly before the expected exposure. For long-term exposure (e.g. animals living in endemic areas or travel lasting more than 4 weeks), the treatment regimen should be based on local epidemiological information. Special precautions for use: Animals should be weighed as accurately as possible before treatment. In the absence of safety data, the product is not used in puppies less than 12 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 1.5 kg. Care should be taken to avoid contact of the contents of the pipette with the dogs eyes or mouth. In particular, oral ingestion by licking the treated application site or contact between animals should be avoided. This product is very harmful to cats and can be fatal due to the unique physiology of cats who are unable to metabolize certain compounds, including permethrin. In the event of accidental dermal exposure, shampoo or soap the cat and consult a veterinarian promptly. To prevent accidental exposure of cats to this product, treated dogs should be kept separate from cats after treatment until the application site is dry. It is important that cats do not have access to the application site of dogs treated with this product. In the event of such exposure, seek veterinary advice immediately. Not for use in rabbits and cats.Use during pregnancy or lactation Laboratory studies in dogs using fipronil and permethrin have not shown any teratogenic or embryotoxic effects. The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established in pregnant or lactating bitches. During pregnancy or lactation, the product should only be used according to the benefit/risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian. Contraindications: Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. Do not use in rabbits and cats as adverse reactions or even death may occur (see section 4.5i). Do not use in sick animals (e.g. systemic diseases, fever...) or convalescent animals. Adverse reactions: Transient skin reactions at the application site (pruritus, erythema, alopecia) and generalised pruritus have been reported very rarely. Behavioural changes (hyperactivity/agitation), neurological signs (lethargy, muscle tremor, convulsions, ataxia) and vomiting have been reported very rarely. If animals lick themselves, hypersalivation may be observed. Presentation form: Cardboard box with 4 pipettes Special precautions for storage: Do not store above 30°C, Protect from direct light.
