Atopivet, 60 tablets is a veterinary product that helps restore and maintain the integrity of the epidermal barrier in dogs, especially during or after diseases that weaken the integrity of the skin, such as dermatitis. Nucleoforce® is a profile of different groups of nucleotides formulated specifically for dogs. Nucleotides are semi-essential nutrients, characterized as the structural unit of the nucleic acids of the cell. Dietary components are generally poor in nucleotides. On the other hand, endogenous synthesis is possible, although it requires a large amount of energy. As such, in situations that have a high need for cellular repair and multiplication, nucleotides must be added exogenously. For many years, various oral applications of nucleotides have been investigated, given their ability to modulate the immune response. One of these is in dermatology, as it has been shown that a combination of nucleotides can promote wound healing as well as fibroblast proliferation. Hyaluronic acid Dermial® significantly increases the proliferation and migration of dermal fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are involved in the regenerative capacity of the skin. Dermial® induces an increase in the skins hydration capacity due to the increase in hyaluronic acid production and its ability to increase elastin production. Atopic dermatitis can affect the total amount of lipids in the outer layer of the skin or alter their relative concentration, increasing skin dehydration and allowing more skin allergens to enter. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA-PureMax™) helps reduce itching and skin inflammation. In normal skin, ceramides are secreted by epidermal keratinocytes into the intercellular space to ensure cellular cohesion and skin barrier effectiveness. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) promotes skin barrier recovery and reduces skin dehydration. Zinc plays a critical role in regulating many aspects of cellular metabolism, many of which are related to maintaining healthy skin and fur. Plasma concentrations of vitamin E in dogs with atopic dermatitis are significantly lower than those in healthy dogs. Oral supplementation of this vitamin results in clinical improvements in dogs with atopic dermatitis.
