XANTERDES is indicated for the relief of ocular discomfort and irritation caused by environmental factors such as dust, heat, smoke, wind, air conditioning and allergens. XANTERDES also contains a low-concentration corticosteroid, desonide sodium phosphate, which supports the action of the medical device against mild ocular surface irritations. XANTERDES provides a wetting and lubricating effect on the ocular surface due to the presence of a natural polymer, xanthan gum. After application to the conjunctival sac, XANTERDES integrates with tears, restoring normal lubrication of the ocular surface. XANTERDES can also be used by contact lens wearers. Contact lenses should be removed prior to administration of the product and waited 10 minutes before reinsertion.
