It is used particularly for lower leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers (decubitus ulcers), and other wounds with prolonged or delayed healing. The dressing is intended for wounds whose wound bed is predominantly covered with reddish granulation tissue. Its multi-layered structure supports controlled moisture management and protects the wound from external elements. URGOSTART Border Structure and Properties The absorbent polyurethane foam dressing is coated with TLC-NOSF technology, a lipidocolloid technology with nano-oligosaccharide factor. This layer contains liquid paraffin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), potassium sucrose octasulfate, and polymers. A superabsorbent layer of cellulose and polymers absorbs excess wound exudate. The dressing is complemented by a vapor-permeable, waterproof backing and a silicone adhesive border that secures the dressing to the skin. URGOSTART Border Application Notes The wound should be cleaned and prepared according to the instructions of the medical treatment or wound care. The dressing is then applied so that the pad completely covers the wound. The silicone adhesive border is gently pressed down to ensure the dressing adheres to the wound edges. URGOSTART Border is intended for wounds with predominantly granulation tissue and should be checked regularly and changed as needed, according to the treatment instructions.
