ThermaCare heat wraps for lower back and hip pain are particularly well-suited for treating tension in the lower back. The skin-friendly wraps, featuring 16 patented heat cells, are infinitely adjustable thanks to their elastic material and Velcro closure. Instructions for use: Effective and targeted relief from muscle and/or joint pain associated with: Overexertion Strains and sprains Osteoarthritis Muscle tension Suitable for acute, chronic, and occasional pain. This product is intended for patients aged 12 years and older who can use it independently. See special warnings and precautions for use. Tear open the pouch immediately before use. Do not cut into the heat wrap. Peel back the paper to expose the adhesive side. Place over the painful area with the adhesive side facing the skin. See the Do not use section regarding body parts where the heat wraps must not be used. It can take up to 30 minutes for ThermaCare to reach its therapeutic temperature. Remove the heat wrap after 12 hours. Do not use the product for more than 12 hours within any 24-hour period. Do not apply the heat wrap too tightly and do not allow the heat cells to overlap. Do not apply additional pressure to the product, for example, by leaning it against hard surfaces or wearing it under tight clothing. If the product feels too hot, discontinue use or wear it over thin clothing and not directly on the skin. To avoid an increased risk of burns, remove the product before undergoing an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedure. Keep the heat wrap dry. Read the Instructions for Use section. In the event of a serious incident involving the product, the manufacturer, the authorized representative, and the local authority must be notified. No special storage conditions are required for this product. Dispose of the product at the end of its use, when its heating function is exhausted, in accordance with local regulations for the collection of household waste and avoid the spread of its contents into the environment. Notes: This product can cause burns/blisters. Check your skin regularly during use. If you notice skin irritation or burns, remove the product immediately. For users who cannot apply the product independently, or for users between 12 and 18 years of age: Supervision by a caregiver is required. Your risk of burns increases with age. If you are 55 years or older, wear ThermaCare over thin clothing and not while sleeping. Talk to your doctor before use if you have diabetes, circulatory problems, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, or if you are pregnant. Stop use and talk to your doctor if you experience discomfort, burns, swelling, rashes, or other persistent changes to your skin in the application area, and if your pain lasts for more than 7 days or worsens. Each heat cell contains iron powder (approx. 2 g). If swallowed, please seek professional help immediately. In case of skin or eye contact, remove the heat wrap, rinse the affected area with water and seek professional help immediately. If the heat wrap becomes damaged or tears during use, remove it. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not microwave or attempt to reheat, as ThermaCare could catch fire. Do not apply: if the heat cells are leaking and/or the heat wrap is damaged or torn, or the packaging is damaged together with externally applied preparations on diseased, damaged or injured skin on bruises and swelling that have occurred in the last 48 hours for people who cannot follow the instructions for use or who cannot remove the product themselves together with other types of heat for users under 12 years of age on parts of the body other than the neck, shoulder, or wrist. *Source: Nadler et al.
