Vitamin D contributes to normal bone development, the maintenance of good teeth, muscle and immune function, and the normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the normal development of vision in infants up to 12 months of age (the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily dietary intake of 100 mg of DHA).
