AQUACEL Ag Foam Description Foam dressing with ionic silver. Offers: - a waterproof top layer that allows moisture to evaporate, provides a barrier against viruses and bacteria, protecting the wound and allowing the patient to shower or bathe - a soft foam layer that improves patient comfort and absorbs excess fluids - a layer of Hydrofiber with silver ions that gels on contact with the exudate and promotes an optimal environment for wound healing - a soft silicone edge that ensures a secure and gentle adhesion to the skin, facilitates removal of the dressing and has been proven not to damage the delicate granulating tissue of the wound. The addition of ionic silver allows the killing of a broad spectrum of wound microbes present in the dressing, including antibiotic-resistant bacteria, through: - rapid and effective antimicrobial action - controlled release of ionic silver, as the exudate is absorbed by the dressing - prolonged antimicrobial activity for up to seven days.
