Other information Biodegradability: Soap made from vegetable oils has the unique property of reacting with the lime always present in wastewater immediately after use. This neutralizes the soaps surfactant effect (primary degradation). This primary degradation occurs within a few hours. The lime soap is then completely broken down by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). Ethanol reintegrates into the natural cycle within a few hours. In addition to the natural glycerin released from the oils during saponification, we also use vegetable glycerin, which binds moisture to the skin. During the production process of sugar surfactant, components are extracted from the plant-based raw materials starch, sugar, and fat, but their natural structural integrity is fully preserved. Therefore, it is relatively easy for microorganisms to quickly and completely degrade these surfactants. According to the OECD, soap and sugar surfactant are considered readily biodegradable.
