PROPERTIES SOFCANIS Hepatique is a Silybin-phospholipid complex (Phytosome®), associated with vitamin E and Zinc. Silybin is a flavonoid extracted from the Milk Thistle plant (Silybum marianum), which plays a role in supporting liver function through: - its direct antioxidant action, 5-10 times greater than that of vitamins C and E - stimulating liver cell regeneration, thanks to its property of facilitating protein synthesis, - contribution to the regulation of liver enzymes, - its ability to selectively increase hepatic glutathione levels by over 35% (a substance that is part of some enzymes that play an important role in hepatic detoxification and protection against lipid peroxidation of liver cell walls), - its anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic properties that help inhibit collagen synthesis - stimulating the production of bile salts and their flow, - increases the antioxidant activity of Superoxide Dismutase Through the Phytosome® process, the flavonoid substance (Silybin) is bound to essential phospholipids (phosphatidylcholine) and as a result, its bioavailability is increased 7-10 times. Phosphatidylcholine has its own hepatoprotective action: this choline reservoir is a natural constituent of bile, which emulsifies lipids and allows their decomposition, thus preventing the appearance of hepatic steatosis. Phosphatidylcholine is capable of selectively incorporating into hepatocyte membranes and giving them greater resistance to lipid peroxidation. The Phytosome® technique amplifies the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic and detoxifying role of Silybin. Vitamin E also protects the phospholipids of liver cell membranes from lipid peroxidation by forming stabilizing complexes, which avoid the highly destructive chain reactions of reactive oxygen species. This antifibrotic activity acts in synergy with that of silybin and phosphatidylcholine, this has already been validated in human practice. It plays a role in liver detoxification by activating the hepatic microsomal system. Zinc is an essential mineral with a role in preventing the occurrence of oxidative stress and in maintaining the normal activity of over 200 enzymes (including SOD B Extramel®- activity carbonic anhydrase, carbo-peptidase, alkaline phosphatase). It has an essential role in: the process of cell division, proliferation and growth; stimulation of antibody production; maintenance of skin and hair health by activating the monocyte-macrophage system; vision metabolism; reproduction; cardiovascular protection. METHOD OF ADMINISTRATIONSOFCANIS Hepatique 25 mg: dog/cat: 2 tablets/5 kg body weight/day or, for better bioavailability: 1 tablet morning and evening/5 kg body weight/day. SOFCANIS Hepatique 150 mg: dog: 1 tablet/15 kg body weight/day or, for better bioavailability: 1/2 tablet morning and evening/15 kg body weight/day. Before use or extending the duration of use, it is recommended to seek the advice of a veterinarian. The recommended period of use is up to 6 months. Water must be provided at all times. SOFCANIS Hepatique is compatible with the diets of patients suffering from heart or kidney failure. In general, the tablets are swallowed spontaneously.
