Sitings, an exhibition of the work of Alice Aycock, Richard Fleischner, Mary Miss and George Trakas, originated from a critical need within the art world of the past two decades. While much has been written about the plurality of styles, scales and scenarios of art since 1960, little critical attention has been brought to bear on artists, like these four, whose work, generally of arhitectural scale, is often related to their sites and reflects public and environmental concerns as well as their own personal aesthetic agendas.
