What is it and what is it used for? Sensodyne Cool Mint 500 ml mouthwash is a solution usually used after brushing to complete oral hygiene, as it helps eliminate germs and bacteria. It also helps combat tooth sensitivity and distributes fluoride to remineralize teeth. Its main active ingredient is potassium nitrate, which helps reduce toothache. This is achieved because this nitrate protects the sensory nerves located at the top of the gums, thus relieving sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity can occur when tooth enamel deteriorates, irritating nerve cells and causing gum sensitivity. Sensitivity is generally triggered by consuming very cold or very hot foods or acidic liquids. Tooth sensitivity can also be caused by tooth fractures, cavities or receding gums that expose nerve endings. At that point, the potassium nitrate in Sensodyne mouthwash works by seeping through the outer surface of your teeth and reaching the nerves inside your sensitive teeth. Once there, it helps block the signals that the nerves in your gums send to your brain. This mouthwash also contains sodium fluoride, which helps prevent tooth decay. Your teeth absorb fluoride, which helps them become stronger and more resistant to acid. It also helps neutralize the action of bacteria and germs that cause cavities. Instructions for use Put 10 ml of mouthwash in your mouth and swish for about a minute, then spit. Do not swallow or rinse your mouth after spitting. Can be used twice a day.
