Description Senna leaf is a medicinal product in the form of an herbal infusion. A decoction of senna leaves has laxative properties. Composition The active substance is senna leaf ( Sennae folium ). 100 g of product contains 100 g of senses leaves. Dosage Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Adults: orally as an infusion. Fill the enclosed measuring cup with senna leaf up to the 2.5 ml mark (this measures 1.1 g of product). Then pour a cup of boiling water (150 ml) over the measured amount of senna, let it steep for 10 minutes, strain, and let it cool. Drink the fresh, warm infusion before bed . Action An infusion of Senses leaves has a laxative effect. Indications Senna leaf infusion is indicated for short-term use in constipation. Contraindications When not to use Senses Leaves : When there is intestinal obstruction, acute inflammation in the abdominal cavity, Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, hypersensitivity to sennosides. Undiagnosed inflammation in the abdominal cavity. States of dehydration accompanied by loss of electrolytes. Period. Side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Abdominal pain, diarrhea, water and electrolyte disturbances, especially potassium deficiency, and nausea may occur. Sennosides may change the color of urine. Warnings and precautions Store the medicine at room temperature. Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
