The berries of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) are among the most nutrient-rich and unusual native fruits. A deep red, pleasantly fruity-smelling oil can be extracted from the pulp using a special separation process. This oil is distinguished by its content of palmitic and palmitoleic acids, an omega-7 fatty acid. It is valued, among other things, for its beneficial effects on the mucous membranes of the esophagus and the gastrointestinal tract. Applied externally, it has a beneficial effect on dry, sunburnt, and stressed skin. For this purpose, we recommend mixing the oil with jojoba or almond oil in a ratio of 1:10. Caution: Stains very strongly due to the high carotenoid content!
