Description Sage leaf is a medicine in the form of sage leaves in tea bags. Sage leaf infusion is used for inflammation of the mucous membranes of the throat and mouth. Composition The active substance of the drug is sage leaf ( Salviae folium ). 1 sachet (1.5 g) contains 1.5 g of sage leaves. Dosage Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. The drug should be administered as a 2.5-3% infusion to the oral and throat mucosa. Dosage: rinse the mouth and throat several times a day. Prepare the infusion by pouring 100 ml (3/4 cup) of boiling water over two sachets of the product. Cover and steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Action An infusion of sage leaves has an astringent and disinfecting effect on inflammation of the oral cavity and throat. Indications The infusion is used locally as an astringent and disinfectant in inflammations of the mucous membrane of the throat and oral cavity. Contraindications Not known when using infusion. Side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. No side effects have been reported to date. Do not swallow. Store in closed containers at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light, moisture, and foreign odors.
