Revamil MELGINATE wound dressing 10 x 10 cm Non-adherent absorbent alginate dressing of calcium with honey Product Description Revamil Melginate is a dressing indicated for exuding wounds. It is composed of natural calcium alginate fibres (100%) combined with Revamil honey rich in enzymes. Alginate fibers form a non-woven fabric strengthened by a special needling process. The alginate sheet is impregnated in the central part with 7 g of honey per 100 cm 2 . Revamil Melginate is packaged in a protective blister and sealed inside a sterile carton. The final product is sterilized by gamma radiation. Revamil Melginate, applied to exuding lesions, absorbs the fluid and rapidly gels. The needling process ensures Revamil Melginate has excellent fluid resistance, facilitating complete removal of the dressing without leaving residue on the wound. The gel formed by alginate in combination with Revamil honey (thanks to its low pH) has a strong antibacterial action and keeps the wound environment moist. Thanks to the absorption of fluids, the periwound skin is protected from maceration. This allows for fluid absorption of 12 g per 100 cm 2 , meeting the absorption requirements as defined by the British Pharmacopoeia. Revamil Melginate is indicated for the management of various types of exuding wounds, including infected ones (surgical, traumatic, oncological wounds, vascular lesions, diabetic foot, lesions induced by radiotherapy, minor 1st and 2nd degree burns, pressure ulcers). How to use Wash the lesion with saline solution and apply Revamil Melginate, trying to enclose it as much as possible within the edges of the lesion. Revamil Melginate should be replaced when it has completely gelled (the product mixes with the exudate and changes its consistency); replace Revamil Melginate every 48/72 hours; when the product no longer gels completely within 48/72 hours, the dressing can be continued with Revamil gel or Revamil wound dressing.
