Markovics, Joyce: - Joyce Markovics has written more than 500 nonfiction childrens books (or at least two giraffe-sized stacks) on topics ranging from killer plants and marvelous mummies to protest marches and Black filmmakers. She recently started her own book development company, Bowerbird Books. Joyce is passionate about telling stories that captivate and inspire young readers. In her free time, she cleans old gravestones, collects oddities, and volunteers at an animal sanctuary.
