However, this knowledge is only now becoming more widely known. Unfortunately, it is still falsely claimed today that saturated fats are harmful to the body. This theory has long been disproven. According to experts, coconut oil and MCT oil are very safe foods. What is special about MCT oil? MCT oil provides our body with quick energy. Therefore, this oil, derived from coconuts, is very popular with athletes and people who have to think a lot at work (the brain has the highest energy demand of all organs). The characteristic medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) they contain are particularly easy for the body to process . In the liver, MCTs are converted into so-called ketones, which, according to experts, represent a better energy source than carbohydrates or other fats, as they have been proven not to affect blood sugar levels. In the mitochondria (the powerhouses of our cells), MCTs are used quickly and easily for ATP production without consuming much oxygen.
