PROTEIN UP Dietary food intended for special medical purposes. High biological value protein concentrate, in powder form, with high solubility. It comes in a highly soluble, neutral-tasting white powder that is well suited for use in any protein-enriched preparation. The products high solubility also allows for its use in artificial nutrition (nasogastric tube or PEG). It is indicated in pathological situations of severe protein deficiency, insufficient dietary protein intake, protein malnutrition, increased requirements associated with particular physical conditions and ongoing infectious processes, high-protein diets, in malabsorption syndromes with organic wasting. Protein Up can also be useful as a dietary supplement for pregnant or breastfeeding women, growing children, convalescent patients, and elderly patients. Ingredients Concentrated protein from calcium caseinate. Gluten free. How to use The dose is strictly individual and depends on different needs. Follow your doctors instructions regarding both quantities and how to use. Oral use: according to the doctors instructions, dissolve the quantity of powder in a cold or room temperature liquid and mix until completely dissolved. The product thus prepared can be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 24 hours. Use by tube and/or PEG: As directed by your doctor, add the required amount of powder to 500-1000 ml of water, depending on the patients fluid needs. The solution can be administered as a bolus or continuously through a nasogastric tube or PEG, possibly also using a peristaltic pump. Preparation It is recommended to prepare the product at the moment of use: pour the indicated dose of powder into the preferred liquid, cold or at room temperature, and mix until a homogeneous solution is obtained. If the preparation is kept in the refrigerator it can be consumed within 24 hours. If stored at room temperature, it is recommended to consume it within 4 hours. Warnings Use under medical supervision. Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition. For use in pediatric age, follow the instructions of your doctor. Conservation Store in a cool, dry place.
