Due to the substances in its composition, the product has anti-edema, diuretic and anti-lactation properties. Target species: dogs Method of administration:Dogs: 1 tablet /15 kg body weight/day It is administered for a maximum of 30 days! The tablets can be administered whole or crushed, before or with food. If the daily dosage exceeds one tablet, they can be administered two or three times a day. The animal must have fresh water available at all times. Ingredients: Vitex agnus-castus extract (chasteberry) 700 mg, Taraxacum officinale extract (dandelion) 150 mg, Petroselinum savitum extract (parsley) 80 mg, Aesculus hippocastanum extract (horse chestnut) 80 mg (source of aescin) Description: Chasteberry extract has anti-lactation properties because its active ingredients bind to dopamine receptors and thus inhibit the release of prolactin. Prolactin is the hormone responsible for producing false pregnancy symptoms, and by lowering its levels, the stimulation of the mammary glands to produce milk is reduced. It also reduces the “typical” maternal behavior that occurs following a false pregnancy. Dandelion leaf extract has diuretic properties. Due to its high potassium and other mineral content, dandelion stimulates urine production by encouraging the excretion of water and mineral salts by the kidneys. This stimulation of water release from the body is beneficial in bitches with false pregnancies, as it reduces swelling of the mammary glands and inhibits lactation. Parsley extract has diuretic properties due to its active substances, which reduce pumping (Na+/K+ ATPase) in the renal tubules, which leads to a decrease in both the reuse of Na ions and the excretion of K ions. All of this leads to an osmotic influx of water into the renal tubules and thus to an increase in urine volume and, respectively, diuresis. Aescin extracted from chestnuts (Aesculus hippocastanum) has primarily anti-edema properties. It produces an increase in the sensitivity of calcium channels to ions, which facilitates an increase in blood vessel tension. This increase in sensitivity to ions and other particles causes an increase in the contractility of venous vessels and thus a decrease in the filtration of fluids from them towards the interstitial tissues. In addition to the above-mentioned effects of sealing small blood vessels, aescin reduces the activation of their endothelial cells, caused by Oxygen deficiency. This activation is in fact the beginning of an inflammatory cascade reaction, which usually presents edema as the first symptom. Inhibition of endothelial cell activation is actually a form of anti-inflammatory action, therefore an anti-edema action (Sirtori, 2001).
