For prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer PreventID® CC is a rapid immunological test for self-administration at home, for the qualitative detection of occult blood in stool. The test is used for the prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer. To perform the test, a stool sample is taken and mixed with the buffer solution in the enclosed sample collection tube. The result can be evaluated 10 minutes after applying the sample. The test is quick and convenient to perform at home. Colorectal cancer that is detected early is almost always curable. Colorectal cancer usually develops over years from so-called polyps, benign growths on the inner wall of the intestine. Not every polyp develops into a malignant tumor; nevertheless, such growths should be removed as a precaution when discovered. Polyps can also be detected early without invasive procedures, as they sometimes bleed, and this blood can be detected in the stool. Blood in the stool doesnt always mean colon cancer. Other causes are possible, such as hemorrhoids. If a fecal occult blood test is positive, a colonoscopy should be performed urgently to obtain a reliable diagnosis. During such a colonoscopy, benign precursors or tumors can be removed. Furthermore, inflammation can be treated to prevent the development of cancer cells. Thoroughly clean contaminated objects/surfaces. Do not use the test cassette if the packaging is torn or the test cassette shows visible damage. Do not use the test after the expiration date.
