presteril Honey PRO Description Non-stick healing gauze. Primary polyethylene dressing impregnated with HoneyPRO gel, with 40% medical-grade honey. The formulation is also enriched with vitamins C and E, hypoallergenic medical-grade lanolin, propylene glycol, and PEG 4000. The HydroPRO formulation has an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect, creating a moist environment that stimulates epithelialization and reduces scar formation. This facilitates the autolysis of necrotic and devitalized material, helping prepare the wound bed and promoting better epithelial cell migration. The gel gradually dilutes and can be easily removed according to standard wound cleansing protocols. The polyethylene support allows the passage of exudate to the secondary dressing. Superficial or partial-thickness burns (first and second degree). Chronic wounds such as pressure ulcers, venous, arterial, and diabetic ulcers. Malignant skin lesions (vegetating ulcers), as an aid in deodorization and/or debridement. Deep, colonized wounds, post-operative and laser wounds; superficial wounds, cuts, abrasions, and donor sites. How to use 1. Inspect and, if necessary, cleanse the wound according to reference protocols. 2. Remove the dressing from the package and, if necessary, cut it to the desired size. 3. Peel the dressing off the two plastic sheets that cover it and apply it to the wound. 4. Cover and secure with the appropriate secondary dressing depending on the amount of exudate. 5. Regularly inspect the wound and periwound skin, as prescribed by reference protocols. 6. Renew the dressing when necessary. The dressing can be left in place for several days, depending on the amount of exudate and the condition of the wound. Replace it once the gel has absorbed. If necessary, the Presteril dressing can be left in place while the secondary dressing is changed. If the Presteril dressing has dried out excessively, it can be removed completely and gently, aided by wound irrigation. Warnings Do not use on patients with known sensitivity to the dressing or any of its components. 1. Do not use if package is opened or damaged. Do not use after the expiration date. 2. Consult a doctor if you feel further intervention is necessary for appropriate wound treatment. 3. Before use, check and clean the wound according to reference protocols. 4. Due to autolytic debridement (the destruction of dead or infected cells), the wound may appear to increase in size after the first few dressing changes. This is normal and occurs as devitalized tissue is removed to prepare the wound bed for healing. 5. Seek medical attention if the patient shows signs of infection (fever, pain) or if the condition of the lesion worsens. 6. Each Presteril dressing is intended for single use only. Used product must be disposed of according to local regulations. 7. Due to the use of natural ingredients, each batch of patches may have a different color (white, yellow, brown); however, this will not affect the effectiveness and/or application of the patch. 8. In case of a serious accident involving the product, report it to the manufacturer and the competent authority. Conservation Store at a temperature between 5°C and 30°C.
