Eugenol, eugenil acetate. Food supplement. Clove essential oil (Eugenia caryophyllus) is distilled from the flower bud of the clove tree, which later gives rise to the clove. Native to the Moluccas, this 20 meter tall tree thrives in drained maritime tropical soils. Its leaves are opposite, leathery and evergreen. The flowers, white-pink in colour, are gathered in small compact and branched inflorescences. Traditionally it is known for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiparasitic, general stimulant, neurotonic, uterotonic, pulp and skin cauterizing properties.
