Extremely rare adverse effects reported after use of the product include transient skin reactions in the area of application (skin discoloration, local alopecia, pruritus, erythema) and generalized pruritus or alopecia. In exceptional cases, hypersalivation, reversible neurological symptoms (hyperesthesia, depression, nervous symptoms), vomiting or respiratory symptoms have been observed after use. Do not overdose. Fold diagonally to expose the scored line. Tear by pulling at the scored line. Twist the tip to open Make a path in the fur and apply to the skin.Recommendations for correct administration It is important to ensure that this product is applied in an area where the animal cannot lick the product and to ensure that the animals do not lick each other after treatment. Care should be taken not to wet the fur excessively with the product, as this may cause the fur to appear sticky at the treatment site. If this phenomenon occurs, it will disappear within 48 hours after treatment. For optimal control of flea and/or tick infestation, the treatment regimen should be based on the local epidemiological situation. In the absence of safety studies, the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks. Animals should be weighed as accurately as possible before treatment. Waiting time Not applicable. Special precautions for storage Keep out of the reach and sight of children. This medicinal product does not require any special temperature storage conditions. Store in the original carton in order to protect from light and moisture. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the label.Special warnings The product does not prevent ticks from attaching to animals, but ticks will be killed within 24-48 hours of attachment, before they reach satiety, thus reducing the risk of disease transmission. Once killed, ticks will most often fall off the animal, and any remaining ticks can be removed by gently pulling them off. When used as part of a strategic treatment for the control of flea allergy dermatitis, monthly applications are recommended for the allergic patient and other dogs in the household. For optimal control of flea infestations in a multi-pet household, all dogs and cats in the household should be treated with an appropriate insecticide. Some isolated ticks may remain on the animal. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases, under favourable conditions, cannot be completely excluded. Fleas on pets often infest the pets basket, bedding and areas where it usually stays, such as carpets and soft furnishings, which should be treated, in case of massive infestations and before taking control measures, with an appropriate insecticide and vacuumed regularly. Avoid swimming or shampooing the pet as the products effectiveness has not been tested in these cases. Special precautions for use in animals Avoid contact with the animals eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. For external use only. Animals should be weighed as accurately as possible before treatment. It is important to ensure that this product is applied to an area where the animal cannot lick the product and to ensure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. Do not apply the product to skin that is broken or damaged. Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals This product may cause irritation of the mucous membranes and eyes. Therefore, contact of the product with the mouth and eyes should be avoided. In case of accidental eye contact, rinse the eye immediately with plenty of clean water. If eye irritation persists, seek medical advice and show the package leaflet or label to the physician. People with known hypersensitivity to fipronil or to the excipients should avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product. Avoid contact of the contents with fingers. In case of contact, wash hands with soap and water. Wash hands after use. Do not smoke, drink or eat during application. Avoid direct contact with treated animals until the application site has dried and children should not be allowed to play with treated animals until the application site has dried. Therefore, it is recommended that the treatment not be applied to animals during the day, but in the evening, and that recently treated animals should not be allowed to sleep in the same bed with their owners, especially children. Use during pregnancy or lactation In the absence of studies evaluating the safety of this product in pregnant or lactating animals, the product should only be used according to the benefit/risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian. Other precautions Fipronil may be harmful to aquatic organisms. Dogs should not be allowed to swim in watercourses for 2 days after application. Solvent alcohol may have undesirable effects on painted, varnished or other surfaces in the home or furniture. No adverse reactions were observed in animal safety studies in 8-week-old puppies, growing dogs or dogs weighing approximately 2 kg treated on 3 separate occasions with five times the recommended dose. However, the risks of adverse effects may increase when the recommended dose is exceeded, so animals should always be treated with the appropriate pipette size for their weight. This product is flammable. Keep away from heat, sparks, flame or other sources of ignition. For veterinary use only. Special precautions for the disposal of unused product or waste materials, if any Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste material derived from the use of such products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements. The product should not be emptied into water courses as it may be harmful to fish and other aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate lakes, streams or drains with this product or its empty container. Mode of action Fipronil is an insecticide/acaricide belonging to the phenylpyrazole class. It acts by inhibiting the GABA complex, binding to the chloride channel and thus blocking the pre- and post-synaptic transfer of chloride ions at the membrane level. This effect leads to uncontrolled activity of the central nervous system and the death of insects and mites.
