What is it and what is it used for? Perio·Aid® periodontal treatment in gel form is an antiseptic toothpaste formulated with 0.12% chlorhexidine to prevent the formation of bacterial plaque that causes periodontal and peri-implant complications. This oral antiseptic is intended for daily use with brushing or as a topical oral spray on affected areas. Its active ingredient is chlorhexidine digluconate, which combats oral pathogens with a long-lasting, broad-spectrum effect. In addition, it contains xylitol, a powerful anti-caries active ingredient that increases salivation and helps reduce bacterial plaque and, through brushing, prevents the accumulation of impurities in the oral cavity. Its gel presentation makes it comfortable to use on sensitive areas that require special treatment and, together with a toothbrush with soft and rounded filaments, will provide comfort and relief. Who is it for? Perio·Aid® periodontal treatment gel is indicated as an adjunct for people undergoing periodontal or peri-implant treatments. It is suitable to help prevent gingivitis and peri-implant mucositis. This toothpaste is ideal for people who suffer from excessive oral biofilm formation, better known as bacterial plaque. It also helps control cavities in people with persistent bacterial activity. It is highly recommended for maintaining oral health after gum dental procedures and for people at high risk of developing oral conditions. Suitable for people with celiac disease. Instructions for use It is recommended to apply a small amount of Perio·Aid® gel to a soft-bristled toothbrush and carefully brush the affected areas, using vertical movements from the gums towards the teeth. Repeat the procedure at least twice a day and complete with Perio·Aid® Treatment mouthwash. For topical use, it is recommended to apply a drop of gel directly to the areas requiring treatment and leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing with mouthwash. Contraindications Do not combine or use other toothpastes during treatment with Perio Aid, as they may contain certain compounds (such as fluoride) that inactivate the active ingredients of chlorhexidine. Avoid rinsing with water or eating immediately after use. Do not swallow.
