Hydroxytyrosol is an antioxidant polyphenol found in the fruits and leaves of the olive tree (Olea europaea L.). According to the official health claims of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), oregano has antioxidant properties due to phenolic compounds, especially rosmarinic acid, and provides antioxidant protection. The European Food Safety Authority has recognized the beneficial effect of hydroxytyrosol in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Recommended dosage 1 capsule 1 or 2 times a day after meals.
