OMRON Description This device is a digital monitor intended for measuring blood pressure and pulse rate in adult patients. The device detects the presence of an irregular heartbeat during measurement and indicates this with a symbol along with the measurement result. The patients arm circumference must be between 17 and 42 cm. This device is used by healthy individuals, patients with hypertension, health-conscious patients, in general home situations, to measure blood pressure and pulse rate. Warnings Remove the meter and other components from the packaging and inspect them for damage. If the meter or any other component is damaged, do not use it. Do not use the monitor on an injured arm or one undergoing medical treatment. Do not apply the cuff to your arm while you are receiving a blood drip or transfusion. Do not use the meter on infants, children or people who are unable to express themselves. Taking the measurement more often than necessary may cause bruising due to interference with blood flow. Inflating to a higher pressure than necessary may cause bruising on the arm in the area where the cuff is applied. NOTE: See the section If your systolic blood pressure is above 210 mmHg at the end of the instruction manual 2 for further information. If you experience skin irritation or other problems, stop using the meter and contact your doctor. Do not change your medication doses (including changes in the use of any medication or treatment) based on the measurements obtained with this blood pressure monitor. Take your medications according to the dose prescribed by your doctor. Only doctors are qualified to diagnose hypertension and heart disease and prescribe appropriate treatments. Do not self-diagnose or self-prescribe medications based on measurement results. Always consult your doctor. If you experience any symptoms or problems, contact your doctor. Do not delay or discontinue routine check-ups or medical visits based on results obtained with this meter. Do not use the monitor in areas where high-frequency (HF) surgical equipment or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT) scanners are present. This may cause the monitor to malfunction and/or result in inaccurate results. Do not use the meter in oxygen-rich environments or near flammable gases. Consult your doctor before using the monitor if you have common arrhythmias such as premature atrial or ventricular beat or atrial fibrillation, arteriosclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, pregnancy, preeclampsia, or kidney disease. NOTE: The presence of any of these pathologies, as well as movement, tremors or shivering by the patient, can affect the measurement values. To avoid strangulation hazards, keep the air hose and AC power cord away from infants and children. This product contains small parts that may pose a choking hazard if swallowed by infants and children. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the meter or other components. This may cause inaccurate results. Do not use in humid environments or where the meter may be exposed to water splashes. This may damage the meter. Do not use the meter in a moving vehicle, such as a car or airplane. Do not drop or subject the meter to strong impacts or vibrations. Do not use the meter in places with excessive or insufficient humidity or at excessively high or low temperatures. While measuring, observe your arm to ensure that the meter is not causing prolonged problems with your blood circulation. Do not use the monitor simultaneously with other medical electrical (EM) devices. This may cause the devices to malfunction and/or give inaccurate results. Avoid bathing, drinking alcoholic or caffeinated beverages, smoking, exercising, or eating for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove any tight or thick clothing from your arm when taking a measurement. Remain still and do not talk while taking the measurement. Use the cuff only on people with an arm circumference within the specific range for which the cuff is intended. Make sure the meter has adjusted to room temperature before taking a measurement. Taking a measurement after a drastic change in temperature may result in inaccurate results. It is recommended to allow the meter to warm up or cool down for approximately 2 hours if the meter is to be used in an environment with a temperature within the specified operating conditions after being stored at the maximum or minimum storage temperature. For more information on operating and storage/transport temperatures, see: Do not use the meter after the operating life period has expired. Do not excessively bend the cuff or air tube. Do not bend or kink the air tubing while taking a measurement. This may cause injury due to interrupted blood flow. To remove the air hose attachment, pull on the plastic attachment at the base of the hose, not the hose itself. Use only the AC adapter, cuff, batteries, and accessories specified for this monitor. Using unsupported AC adapters, cuffs, and batteries may damage and/or expose the monitor to potential risks. Use only the cuff approved for this monitor. Using other cuffs may cause incorrect results. Cod. HEM-7188-LE
