Hyaluronic acid is a molecule present in human tissues, with high viscoelastic properties and a great moisturizing capacity. Hyaluronic acid, like tears, is able to change its viscosity depending on the friction applied, increasing and improving ocular lubrication. Due to its ability to incorporate water molecules, it helps restore and stabilize the tear film. They are medical devices, not drugs. For safe ocular self-medication, sterile, biocompatible, preserved, isotonic, isoosmotic, buffered at pH 7.2. They are natural. They do not contain additives, preservatives or chemical disinfectants, therefore they do not have the contraindications and limitations of chemical products. They contain fluid extracts of medicinal plants. Fluid extracts are obtained by distilling medicinal plants with ethyl alcohol (a more expensive but much more effective technique) rather than by distilling with water (which is much cheaper, less concentrated and therefore less effective). The fluid extract provides a natural disinfection, while the aqueous extract requires a chemical preservative/disinfectant. They can be used up to 90 days after opening. Unlike many competitors, which have a maximum shelf life of 20/30 days, this feature, along with the lack of chemical preservatives, eliminates the need for individual portion formats. They can also be used while wearing contact lenses. They are not aggressive because they do not contain chemicals (for example: benzalkonium chloride) and are always well tolerated and effective, unlike many competing products which, due to their chemical content, can damage the lens polymer. They have no known contraindications. Due to their natural and delicate composition, they are only recommended in cases of known hypersensitivity to the product components. The sprays are used on open or closed eyes. The special certification of class B products allows the use of sprays on open eyes, via a nozzle designed to administer gentle micronebulization. Its use on the open eye is particularly effective, as it allows rapid absorption of the active ingredient and provides an immediate soothing, hydrating and refreshing effect; it also ensures administration in the correct quantities.
