Neocate Infant - specially formulated for infants with cows milk protein allergy aged 0-12 months Neocate Infant is a special formula for babies from birth with cows milk protein allergy and multiple food allergies, so that your child is optimally supplied with important nutrients even without cows milk protein and can grow normally. Neocate has been used for over 30 years for the dietary management of cows milk allergy. But what makes Neocate Infant so special? Neocate® Infant is used by pediatricians for the diagnosis and treatment of suspected cows milk protein allergy. Because Neocate® Infant is 100% free of cows milk protein, it reliably protects children from allergic symptoms. To further prevent potential allergic reactions in cases of multiple food allergies, we also manufacture Neocate® Infant without chicken, soy, and wheat protein, as well as lactose. As uncomplicated as conventional infant formula As part of a dairy-free diet, you can give your child Neocate® Infant just like conventional infant formula from birth. When you introduce complementary foods from the 5th month onwards, Neocate® Infant can be used as a supplement, for example as a drink or mixed with cereal to make a milk porridge. Whenever milk is needed to prepare a baby meal, simply use Neocate® Infant as a substitute. Indications Neocate Infant is particularly suitable for the dietary management of infants with cows milk allergy, multiple food allergies or other indications for which an elemental diet based on amino acids is recommended. Cows milk protein allergy in children Cows milk is of central importance for the development of non-breastfed babies in the form of infant formula, providing essential nutrients for growth and development. However, if allergic reactions occur in a child after consuming milk, affected parents are often at a loss. Mild, temporary symptoms such as bloating, diarrhea, or skin reactions are usually harmless and quite common during childhood development. However, if your child suffers from persistent, varied, and nonspecific symptoms, an intolerance or food allergy may sometimes be the cause. If your child is diagnosed with a milk allergy – also known as cows milk or cows milk protein allergy – a milk-free diet is necessary (for infants who are not breastfed). Your child now needs a complete and easily digestible special formula to replace milk/infant milk. This is the only way to ensure they continue to receive all the essential nutrients necessary for their normal and healthy development. Your childs symptoms will quickly disappear on a strictly dairy-free diet. The best news, however, is that a milk allergy can completely resolve itself. By school age, almost all children with a milk allergy can tolerate milk again without any problems. Symptoms of cows milk allergy Cows milk protein allergy manifests differently in each child, making diagnosis difficult. Some infants show immediate allergic reactions after receiving a bottle of formula or milk-based cereal. In other infants, reactions only appear hours or days after consuming milk. If your child develops a cows milk protein allergy, you will likely spend many nerve-wracking days and nights comforting and caring for them. Most infants and children with a milk allergy suffer from skin problems (such as cradle cap, eczema, or atopic dermatitis), gastrointestinal issues (such as constipation, abdominal pain, or blood in the stool), or respiratory problems (such as coughing, a runny nose, or bronchitis). Irritability, crying, constant fatigue, and restless sleep are also typical. Several symptoms often occur simultaneously. What should I consider when feeding my child a dairy-free diet? Only by completely eliminating the allergy-triggering food, namely cows milk protein, will your child soon feel better. This doctor-prescribed diet can be a challenge in everyday life, as many common foods, such as bread, juice, and sausage, can contain traces of cows milk protein. Tips for the optimal care of your child: Always check the ingredient list when buying food. Terms like lactose, casein, lactoglobulin, or lactalbumin indicate the presence of milk components. Ask specifically about fresh produce. Inform all family members and anyone who cares for your child. This will prevent others from unknowingly giving your child food containing milk protein. Your pediatrician will prescribe a suitable special formula for your child. Alternatives to cows milk from the supermarket or drugstore (hypoallergenic infant formulas, soy products, and other plant-based alternatives) are not suitable for an elimination diet as a replacement for formula or milk.Application note Standard dilution: 13.5 g Neocate Infant (3 scoops) + 90 ml drinking water = 100 ml ready-to-drink formula. One scoop contains 4.5 g Neocate Infant. For the standard dilution, 30 ml of water is required per level scoop of Neocate Infant. The standard dilution provides 0.67 kcal/ml. Preparation instructions Wash your hands. Sterilize the bottle, teat, and any other preparation utensils. Boil drinking water, pour the required amount into the bottle/container, and let it cool. Measure the specified amount using the scoop, leveling it off with the back of a knife, being careful not to press the powder into the scoop. Alternatively, weigh the specified amount and pour it into the bottle/container. Close the bottle/container and shake well until the powder is dissolved. If using a measuring cup, stir thoroughly with a whisk. Allow to cool to drinking temperature (37°C) (check with a cheek test) and, after shaking again, feed. Important information: Breastfeeding is best for babies. Please talk to your pediatrician if you wish to use a special infant formula. Neocate Infant is a food for special medical purposes.
