Monovisc is a medical device intended for the treatment of symptoms of joint dysfunctions, including arthritis. The medical device contains a sterile, pyrogen-free solution of sodium hyaluronan, weakly cross-linked using a patented chemical cross-linking sensor. It is produced from ultrapure high molecular weight hyaluron, obtained in the bacterial fermentation process. Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide complex from the group of glycosaminoglycans. It hydrates the tissues, maintains their separation and reduces the mechanical load on the joints.
