Master-Aid Herpes Patch is made of a hydrocolloid matrix coated on a polyurethane backing. This matrix has beneficial properties for protecting and treating lesions and is composed of carboxymethylcellulose and konjac gum. These hydrophilic polymers absorb exudates and maintain a controlled level of moisture in the wound. Controlling the moisture level of the wound is essential for proper healing. Master-Aid Herpes Patch also contains calendula extract, a plant-based oil with emollient properties that soften the external epithelium of the labial surface, minimizing the discomfort caused by the sensation of the cold sore.
