Keep the leaflet for future reference. What is a licenser? Licener is a shampoo for head lice that quickly and reliably eliminates lice and nits (lice eggs) in just one application. Liceners effectiveness has been proven in clinical studies on children with head lice. The shampoo is free of strong-smelling chemical ingredients and leaves skin and hair feeling soft and silky without irritating the scalp. The active ingredient in Licener is the naturally effective extract of the neem tree. Licener is easy to use and works quickly and reliably in just 10 minutes. How does Licener work? The shampoo contains naturally effective neem extract, which coats lice at all stages of development. This blocks the lices respiratory system and interrupts oxygen transport, causing them to suffocate within minutes. The extract also penetrates the protective barrier of the nits. In this way, Licener eliminates both lice and nits in a single application. What are head lice? Head lice are blood-sucking, wingless insects. They are parasites that feed on human blood. Head lice and nits prefer warm, dark areas on the scalp. They are therefore often found behind the ears, along the hairline, and at the nape of the neck. The color of lice can vary from sandy to almost black. After feeding on blood, they turn dark red. The life cycle of a head louse comprises three stages: nit, nymph, and adult louse. The female louse attaches her eggs to the base of the hair shaft with a type of glue. The nits remain firmly anchored in the hair, which is why the distance from the scalp increases as the hair grows. After about 7–10 days, the nymphs hatch from the nits and develop into fully formed lice in another 7 days. An adult female louse can then lay up to 8 eggs per day. How is Licener used? Step 1: Apply Licener shampoo to dry hair. Be sure to use enough shampoo to completely cover all hair. It is recommended to use one bottle of Licener per person (depending on hair length). Carefully massage the Licener shampoo from the scalp to the ends of the hair and then leave it on for 10 minutes. If several family members are affected by head lice, everyone should be treated with Licener on the same day to prevent re-infestation. Step 2: Rinse the Licener shampoo thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid getting the shampoo in your eyes, as this can cause irritation, just like with any shampoo. It is not necessary to wash your hair with a regular shampoo after using Licener. If needed, you can comb your dried hair with a special nit comb after the Licener treatment to remove dead lice and nits. Licener can easily be repeated at any time should there be a re-infestation with head lice from other infected persons. Important: Licener is suitable for adults and children aged 2 years and older. No studies have been conducted on the use of Licener in children under 2 years of age. Licener should not be used by people who are allergic to any of its ingredients. Like any shampoo, Licener can cause mild eye irritation. Therefore, avoid contact with the eyes. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water. If hypersensitivity or allergic reactions occur, or if you experience any other side effects, discontinue use and consult your doctor. If you intend to use this product during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, we recommend that you consult your doctor or pharmacist beforehand. Store between 5 and 25°C and out of the reach of children. If using Licener in acrylic plastic sinks or bathtubs, rinse any spillage immediately with water to prevent staining. For external use only. Do not use after the expiry date; see the label on the back of the bottle.
