Leukomed® skin sensitive: Skin-friendly wound dressing Surgical and traumatic wounds carry a high risk of infection. A sterile dressing can reduce this risk by protecting the wound from pathogens and contaminants. Leukomed® skin sensitive was specifically developed for patients with sensitive or already damaged skin and provides an effective barrier against pathogens and bacteria. For comfortable wear, the sterile non-woven dressing consists of a transversely elastic polyester fleece with a soft surface. The viscose non-woven wound pad, coated with polypropylene, is highly absorbent and suitable for slightly to moderately exuding wounds. Thanks to its special properties, the wound pad does not stick to the wound, thus preventing further skin damage. Additionally, the air- and water vapor-permeable materials allow the skin to breathe, which supports the healing process. Patients particularly appreciate the virtually painless removal of the dressing. Silicone is used instead of acrylate or rubber-resin adhesives. This ensures very good adhesion; however, in comparison to conventional adhesives, silicone does not stick to the skin and can be removed without leaving any residue.
