Lamberts Multi Guard Pregnancy 90tabs Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is a specialized multivitamin formula of 23 micronutrients, designed by the Scientific Department of Lamberts® and aimed at women of reproductive age who: • either they hope to conceive • whether they are pregnant • whether she is breastfeeding The chemical composition of Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is oriented to fully meet the increased nutritional needs of women during the preconception period, pregnancy (where it simultaneously covers the needs of both the pregnant woman and the fetus) and lactation. When taken daily, it provides the required amount of folic acid set by the World Health Organization (400mcg), combined with ideal levels of other vitamins and minerals essential for this important period. Ensuring adequate folate intake is very important , as it contributes to the development of maternal tissue during pregnancy*. The folic acid contained in Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is in the form of calcium L-methylfolate, which is the metabolically active (methylated) form of folic acid. In this way, adequate metabolic coverage is ensured for all women, including those who are unable to methylate folic acid (polymorphisms in the MTHFR gene). Additionally, it provides 150μg of iodine per tablet, an amount that coincides with the recommendations of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists regarding iodine intake during pregnancy. Adequate iodine intake indirectly ensures proper intrauterine development of the fetal brain, as iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function*.
