Gastrovet. Gastric protector for dogs 30 tablets Gastrovet is a gastroduodenal mucosal protective agent for canines. Gastrovet is the only one that combines the action of the sucrose aluminum hydroxide complex with licorice extract. Deglycyrrhizinated licorice extract stimulates the repair of the digestive mucosa and promotes the secretion of gastric mucus. The sucrose-aluminum complex creates a protective barrier over the damaged areas against the attack of hydrochloric acid (hyperacidity) and/or pepsin. It absorbs pepsin and bile acids and inhibits their erosive effect on the mucosa, preventing future damage. It also stimulates the production of gastroprotective agents such as prostaglandin E2 and gastric mucus. Upon contact with stomach acid, Gastrovet dissociates, generating a highly bioadherent mucilage. This mucilage binds electrostatically to proteins and fibrinogen exposed by lesions, establishing a protective barrier. Indicated as an adjunct in the curative and/or preventive treatment of: Gastritis and Duodenitis. Esophageal Reflux. Gastric Mucosal Injuries due to Stress. Adverse digestive effects of NSAIDs. Dosage: Dogs < 15kg: 1 tablet at the end of the meal or with medication. Dogs > 15kg: 2 tablets at the end of the meal or with medication. Presentation: 30 and 240 tablets
