KELO COTE GEL Description Kelo-Cote Gel is a clear, self-drying silicone gel for scar treatment. Kelo-Cote Gel dries quickly to form a flexible, impermeable film that creates a protective barrier against chemical, physical and microbial agents, while helping to hydrate the skin. This gel creates an environment that promotes scar maturation, normalizing collagen synthesis and improving the aesthetic appearance of the scar. Kelo-Cote Gel reduces, fades and smooths scars, relieves itching, discomfort and pain associated with scars and reduces scar discoloration. Silicone gels have been shown to be effective in treating abnormal scars in the form of hypertrophic scars and keloids. The 2014 International Clinical Guidelines for Scar Management recommend the use of silicones as first-line therapy for the treatment of linear hypertrophic scars and minor keloids, as well as for the prevention of hypertrophic scars. Intended Use : Kelo-Cote Gel is indicated for the treatment and prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars resulting from trauma, accidental injury, surgery and burns. Kelo-Cote Gel is suitable for the face and body. Kelo-Cote Gel can be used on joints, skin folds and hairy areas, as well as on large scars, such as those caused by burns or major trauma. Kelo-Cote Gel is suitable for use on children over 3 months of age and on people with sensitive skin. How to use Make sure the affected area is clean and dry. If using the 60g tube, remove the cap and protective foil before use. For the 6g and 15g tubes, cut the tip of the applicator with clean scissors before application. Apply Kelo-Cote gel to the affected area using a clean finger twice a day, in a very thin layer, and allow to dry. For maximum effect, Kelo-Cote gel should remain in contact with the skin for 24 hours. Once dry, sunscreen or cosmetics can be applied to the affected area. Replace the cap after use. If Kelo-Cote gel does not dry within 4-5 minutes, you may have used too much. Gently wipe off the excess and allow to dry. The minimum recommended treatment time is 60-90 days.
