IODIVET Description Sterile eye drops. Sterile, isotonic, lipid-based ophthalmic solution containing medium chain triglycerides (MCT). It also contains sodium hyaluronate (a hydrophilic polymer) and iodine in the form of povidone iodide. MCTs interact with the outer lipid layer of the tear film and form a protective film that prevents hyperevaporation of the aqueous component of the tear film, retains water and helps to maintain a stable and hydrated ocular surface. Povidone iodine ensures the sterility of the solution before and after opening the bottle. Indicated as an adjuvant in the treatment of ocular surface infections, even recurrent ones. It can also be used in the preparation of the surgical field. How to use Wash your hands thoroughly. Remove the bottle from the carton and remove the plastic safety seal from the neck. Unscrew the cap. With your non-dominant hand, hold and support the animal’s head, tilting it slightly back. With your other hand, hold the bottle vertically above the eye, with the tip pointing downwards. Instill 1 or 2 drops of the solution into the affected eye, gently pressing the plastic bottle and taking care not to touch the eye with the tip of the bottle.
