Syaloset 2000 Description Sterile, pyrogen-free, viscoelastic solution prepared with the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, obtained by bacterial fermentation from a high molecular weight fraction (<2.00 kDa). Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in many human tissues, such as cartilage and synovial fluid: it is continuously secreted into the joint cavity and is the major component of synovial fluid, giving it its characteristic viscosity and elasticity. These properties are essential for the fluid to perform its lubricating and shock-absorbing functions in normal joints, protecting cartilage and soft tissues from mechanical damage. A temporary replacement for synovial fluid indicated for the treatment of pain and reduced mobility in patients with degenerative or traumatic arthropathy affecting synovial joints. The product acts by lubrication and mechanical support and is particularly suitable for the treatment of symptoms of osteoarthritis. How to use Using a suitable sterile needle (e.g. 18 or 20 gauge), inject the affected joint at weekly intervals for a total of 3 weeks. Additional injections may be given if necessary. The product should only be administered by specialist physicians. All rules of asepsis and infection control techniques should be observed. If an effusion is present, it should be removed before injecting the product. components Sodium salt of hyaluronic acid 1.5%; other ingredients: sodium chloride, disodium phosphate 2H2O, water for injections. warnings Do not use if the package is damaged.
