innoliving BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR Description This medical device is intended for non-invasive measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age using the oscillometric method. The device is not intended for use on infants and children. The device is intended for home or clinical use. All functions are safe to use and the values can be read on a single LCD display. The measurement position is on the upper arm of adults only. The patient is the designated operator. Please read this manual carefully before using the product. It is recommended to keep this manual for future reference. For specific information on blood pressure, please CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN. To avoid risks and damage, follow all warnings. Use the device only for its intended purpose. Read all instructions before use. How to use BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device. 2. Insert the 3 included AAA alkaline batteries into the appropriate compartment, observing the indicated polarities. 3. Close the battery compartment with the lid CORRECT POSITION FOR MEASUREMENT 1. For an accurate measurement, remove any clothing or shirts from the arm area. Remove any clothing that constricts the upper arm. 2. Rest for a few minutes before testing. 3. Sit in a quiet place, preferably at a desk or table, upright and with your back straight, with your arm resting on a hard surface and your legs on the floor, without crossing them. PREPARING THE BRACELET 1. Insert the cuff tube into the left side of the main unit. 2. Insert the bracelet flap inside the metal ring, about 5 centimeters, with the Velcro side facing outwards. 3. Place the cuff on your left arm and hold it at heart level. 4. Wrap the cuff so that the bottom flap is positioned approximately 1-2 cm above the elbow joint. 5. Tighten the cuff around your arm so that the Velcro closure is secure. The cuff should be neither too tight nor too loose. MEASURING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE 1. After preparing and putting on the cuff, take 3-5 deep breaths and relax before measuring. Do not talk or move your arms. 2. Press the “START/STOP” button to turn on the unit. The LCD screen will flash for one second while the unit performs a quick diagnostic. A long beep will indicate when the unit is ready to test. NOTE: The device will not work if there is residual air in the cuff from previous tests. The LCD screen will flash the symbol until the pressure stabilizes. 3. After the cuff is inflated, the air will slowly rise according to the corresponding cuff pressure value. At the same time, the screen will flash, indicating that a heartbeat has been detected. NOTE: Remain relaxed during the test. Avoid talking or moving any part of your body. CAUTION: If the cuff pressure becomes too high during the test, press the “START/STOP” button to turn off the power. The cuff pressure will dissipate quickly once the unit is turned off. 4. Four beeps will sound when the measurement is complete. The screen will display the systolic and diastolic blood pressure values. NOTE: Next to the current blood pressure measurement, an indicator representing the corresponding WHO classification will appear. 5. If the monitor detects an irregular heartbeat two or more times during the measurement process, the irregular heartbeat symbol will appear on the screen along with the measurement results. An irregular heartbeat is defined as a rhythm that is both 25% slower and 25% faster than the average heart rate detected during systolic and diastolic blood pressure measurements. Consult your doctor if the irregular heartbeat symbol frequently appears with your test results. 6. Press the START/STOP button to turn off the device. Wait 3 minutes or more before taking another measurement. The device automatically turns off after 3 minutes of inactivity. warnings 1. Do not confuse self-monitoring with self-diagnosis. Blood pressure measurements should only be interpreted by a healthcare professional familiar with the patients medical history. 2. Contact your doctor if your test results consistently show abnormal values. Do not attempt to self-treat these symptoms without first consulting your doctor. 3. If you are taking any medications, consult your doctor to determine the best time to measure your blood pressure. NEVER change a prescribed medication without first consulting your doctor. 4. People with severe circulatory problems may experience discomfort. Consult a doctor before use. 5. For people with irregular or unstable circulation due to diabetes, liver disease, arteriosclerosis, or other medical conditions, there may be variations in blood pressure readings measured at the wrist compared to the upper arm. Monitoring blood pressure trends measured at both the arm and wrist is still useful and important. 6. People with vascular constriction, liver disease or diabetes, those with pacemakers or weak pulse, and pregnant women should consult a doctor before measuring their blood pressure. Different values may be obtained due to their condition. 7. People with arrhythmias, such as atrial or ventricular premature beats or atrial fibrillation, should use this blood pressure monitor only after consulting a doctor. The oscillometric measurement method may produce erroneous values in some cases. 8. Too frequent measurements may cause injury to the patient due to interference with blood flow. 9. The bracelet should not be applied over a wound, as this may cause further injury. 10. DO NOT apply the cuff to a limb used for intravenous infusion or any other intravascular access, therapy, or arteriovenous (AV) shunt. Inflation of the cuff may temporarily block blood flow, potentially causing injury to the patient. 11. The cuff should not be placed on the arm opposite the mastectomy. In the case of a bilateral mastectomy, the less dominant arm should be used. 12. Cuff pressurization may cause temporary loss of function of monitoring devices used simultaneously on the same limb. 13. A compressed or kinked connecting tube may cause continuous pressure on the cuff, resulting in interference with blood flow and potential harmful injury to the patient. 14. Verify that operation of the unit does not result in prolonged impairment of the patients circulation. 15. The product is designed for its intended use only. Do not abuse it. 16. The product is not intended for infants or people who cannot express their intentions. 17. Prolonged excessive inflation of the cuff may cause bruising on the arm. 18. Do not disassemble the unit or cuff. Do not attempt to repair it. Do not perform any maintenance other than replacing the batteries. Do not attempt to modify the product without the manufacturer’s authorization. 19. Use only the cuff approved for this product. Using other cuffs may result in inaccurate measurements. 20. The system may produce erroneous readings if stored or used outside the temperature and humidity ranges specified by the manufacturer. 21. Do not use the device near strong electric or electromagnetic fields generated by mobile phones or other devices, as they may cause erroneous readings and interference or become sources of interference for the device. Do not use the device while transporting the patient outside the medical facility to avoid existing sources of interference. 22. Do not mix new batteries with old batteries. 23. Replace the batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the screen. Replace both batteries at the same time. 24. Do not mix batteries. It is recommended to use long-life alkaline batteries. 25. Remove the batteries from the device if it is not used for more than 3 months. 26. Do not insert batteries with their polarities incorrectly aligned. 27. Dispose of batteries properly; follow local laws and regulations. Precautions - Sit in a quiet place for at least 5 minutes before the test. - Do not stand during the test. Sit in a relaxed position, keeping your arm at the level of your heart. - Wait 3 minutes or more before repeating the test. - Avoid talking or moving any part of your body during the test. - During testing, avoid strong electromagnetic interference such as microwave ovens and mobile phones. - Try to measure your blood pressure at the same time every day to get consistent readings. - Test comparisons should only be made when the blood pressure monitor is used on the same arm, in the same position and at the same time of day. - This blood pressure monitor is not recommended for people with severe arrhythmia. - Avoid eating, exercising, and bathing 30 minutes before the test. - Do not use this blood pressure monitor if the device is damaged.
