Description Ziaja Hydrocortisonum is a topical cream for the skin. It contains hydrocortisone acetate, an active substance from the corticosteroid group, which has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. Composition The active substance is: hydrocortisone acetate ( Hydrocortisoni acetas ). 1 gram of cream contains 5 mg of the active substance hydrocortisone acetate ( Hydrocortisoni acetas ). Excipients: cetyl alcohol; stearyl alcohol; propylene glycol (E 1520); methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218); propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216); macrogol cetostearyl ether 20; light liquid paraffin; sorbitan stearate (type I); white soft paraffin; purified water. Dosage Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. A drug for external, local use on the skin. Do not apply the cream to healthy skin or large body surfaces. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected skin 2-3 times a day. Do not use on facial skin for more than 3 days. Action Hydrocortisonum Ziaja has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive properties. Indications Local treatment of: atopic dermatitis (AD); lupus erythematosus, erythema multiforme; seborrheic dermatitis; symptoms after insect bites; lichen planus with severe itching; scalp scaling, long-standing psoriasis; first- and second-degree burns (including sunburn). Contraindications Do not use Hydrocortisonum Ziaja if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine; if you have fungal, viral or bacterial dermatitis, including systemic mycosis; in case of rosacea and common acne; in case of skin atrophy; in case of dermatitis around the mouth; on open wounds, damaged skin; in case of cancer or pre-cancerous conditions; in case of skin lesions or tuberculosis. Side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people): blurred vision. Side effects of unknown frequency (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): atrophic dermatitis, stretch marks on the skin; recurrence of skin infection; steroid purpura (skin discoloration and depigmentation); superficial dilation of blood vessels; post-steroid acne; dermatitis around the mouth; dermatitis around the eyes; folliculitis, excessive hair growth; delayed healing of wounds and ulcers; bacterial, fungal and viral superinfections of the skin; petechiae (small, red or purple spots on the skin); skin irritation such as: burning, redness, excessive dryness, contact allergy; glaucoma or cataracts - when applying the medicine to the skin of the eyelids; systemic side effects (suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, Cushings syndrome (increased concentration of cortisol in the blood serum), inhibition of growth and development in children, hyperglycemia (increased concentration of sugar in the blood), glycosuria (presence of sugar in the urine)) Warnings and precautions The use of the drug should be discussed with a doctor in people with diabetes, glaucoma/cataracts, psoriasis. Do not use the drug on large areas of the body or for a long time - risk of generalized side effects. In the case of, for example, bacterial superinfection, you should consult a doctor. When using the drug, avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes. Do not use an occlusive dressing on skin covered with cream - risk of increased absorption of hydrocortisone. The medicine contains cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate - may cause skin irritation, including contact dermatitis and delayed allergic reactions. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25˚C. Do not freeze. Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine. Use of the drug in children and adolescents Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
