Schimel, Lawrence: - About the Translator Lawrence Schimel is a bilingual author and translator who works in both Spanish and English. His translated books include Piece by Piece, written by David Aguilar and Ferran Aguilar, and Some Days, written and illustrated by María Wernicke, among many others. His translations into English have won a Batchelder Honor and an Américas Award Honor and have been chosen as New York Times Best Illustrated Childrens Books. He lives in Madrid, Spain.
