The Hotgen SARS-CoV-2 antigen test is intended for single use. A positive test result indicates that the samples contain the SARS-CoV-2 antigen. A negative test result does not rule out the possibility of infection. Gently insert the soft tip of the swab into one nostril until you feel resistance. Rub the swab around the inside of the nose in a circular motion for a total of 15 seconds. Repeat the same process with the same swab in the other nostril. Immerse the swab with the sample into the tube containing the extraction solution. Rotate the swab for at least 15 seconds and squeeze out the excess liquid. This liquid in the tube (sample) should be tested within one hour. Open the aluminium pouch of the test cassette and place the test cassette on a flat surface. Place 4 drops of the sample onto the sample hole of the test cassette. The test result can be read after 15 to 20 minutes. For disposal via household waste, place the test cassette, tube and swab into the biohazard sample bag and seal it. Reapply hand sanitizer after the testIn the event of a positive test result (2 colored fields in the observation window), please self-isolate and contact your doctor or the public health department by telephone in accordance with the guidelines of the local authorities to discuss further procedures. Storage and shelf life information: The kit should be stored at 4 to a maximum of 30°C. After opening the foil pouch, the test should be used within 30 minutes at room temperature (temperature 10–30°C, humidity ≤ 70%).
