nSusan Deacy is Professor Emerita of Roehampton University, Honorary Professor at Bristol University, Honorary Vistiting Fellow at Leicester University, and Associate Fellow of the Institute of Classical Studies in London. She won a National Teaching Fellowship in 2015 in recognition of the outstanding impact of her practice. Her scholarship on ancient religion (especially gods), mythology and culture has been influential since the 1990s, and her recent publications include What Would Hercules Do? Lessons for Autistic Children Using Classical Myth (2023) and Down the sinkhole: the Lernean Hydra in The Oxford Handbook of Monsters in Classical Myth (2024). Her forthcoming publications include the monograph A Traitor to her Sex?
