Gaviscon Forte Menthol oral suspension, 150 ml, Reckitt Benckiser [5949031370674] Indications: Gaviscon Forte contains a combination of an alginate and two antacids (calcium carbonate and sodium hydrogen carbonate) which act in two ways: 1. Formation of a protective barrier on the surface of the gastric contents, which can last up to 4 hours and soothes heartburn. 2. Neutralizing excess stomach acid to reduce pain and discomfort. This medicine is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, such as heartburn, acid regurgitation and indigestion, which occur, for example, after meals or during pregnancy. Contraindications: Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine (see leaflet for further information). Precautions: Before using Gaviscon Forte Menthol, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnancy, lactation and fertility: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant you can take this medicine. As with other medications, the duration of treatment should be as short as possible. Method of administration: Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. For oral administration. Shake well before use. Adults and children aged 12 years and over: when symptoms appear, take 10-20 ml after meals and before bedtime, a maximum of four times a day. Children under 12 years of age: administration is not recommended in children under 12 years of age. If you take more of this medicine than you should: Taking more medicine than you should is unlikely to harm you. However, you may feel bloated and have some abdominal discomfort. Contact your doctor if the bloating does not go away. If you forget to take this medicine: if you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose at the time of the next administration, but continue to take the medicine as usual. Composition: Each 10 ml of oral suspension contains sodium alginate 500 mg, sodium hydrogen carbonate 213 mg and calcium carbonate 325 mg. The other ingredients are carbomer, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), saccharin sodium, mint flavour, sodium hydroxide and water. The flavourings contain propylene glycol (E1520).
