Although direct consumption of high-quality fish oil is the ideal way to meet daily EPA and DHA requirements, taking it in capsule form is often preferred. We chose Golden Omega®s natural triglyceride form of fish oil concentrate for our Omega-3 Eco supplement due to its advantages in the manufacturing process. Heres a brief overview of the benefits of our supplement: Organic: The oil is produced from small wild fish with a minimal ecological footprint. Fishing practices respect biodiversity, and state-of-the-art technology ensures minimal waste and pollution during processing. Certified by IFFO RS and Friend of the Sea. Pure: The product is made from 100% small, wild anchovies with a short lifespan, whose diet consists primarily of krill and various plankton species. Thanks to pristine fishing grounds, the crude oil extract already boasts an extremely high degree of purity. However, the crude oil extract is further purified using a new, gentle, and patented filtration process, ensuring that even with highly precise measuring methods, no impurities are detectable in the final product. No other fish oil on the market achieves this level of purity. Fresh: The catch is processed directly on site, so the TOTOX value is exceptionally low at 5, and Omega-3 Eco is the freshest fish oil on the world market in terms of active ingredients per unit. Extremely high concentration of active ingredients: GAL Omega-3 ECO contains 700 mg of omega-3 fatty acids in a softgel capsule, 350 mg as EPA, 250 mg as DHA, and 100 mg as DPA and SDA. (Other omega-3 capsules typically contain 100–350 mg of omega-3 per capsule.) Of course: Our oil contains natural triglycerides (TG) instead of cheaper, artificial ethyl esters (EE), which are typically found in fish oil concentrate. These are not usually listed in the ingredients because there is no labeling requirement. While this certainly fits the romantic image of a natural product, its also an important factor, as the use of ethyl esters in the product market has prompted several studies. These studies revealed that consuming fish oil is less effective for cardiovascular problems than previously thought. However, all these research findings were based on the unnatural ethyl ester form (EE)! Since ethyl esters are generally not subject to mandatory labeling, the only way to determine whether a product contains triglycerides or ethyl esters is through a polystyrene test: Unlike triglycerides, ethyl esters dissolve within seconds! 30% better absorption: The absorption of omega-3 fatty acids from molecularly filtered fish oil concentrate, which is still in its natural form as triglyceride, is 30% higher compared to untreated natural fish oil (not to mention the ethyl ester form).
