Flora Defense contains pure Saccharomyces boulardii yeast cultures and Lactobacillus rhamnosus lactic acid bacteria, as well as a prebiotic (oligofructose). Saccharomyces cerevisiae var boulardii – has a natural resistance to antibiotics, except for some quinolones and antifungals. This yeast is not digested in the digestive tract. Saccharomyces boulardii secretes a protease that inactivates toxin A produced by Clostridium difficile. Lactobacillus rhamnosus - by producing lactic acid, it supports the decrease in pH in the intestine, thus inhibiting the development of pathogenic microorganisms. The metabolites produced by Lactobacillus rhamnosus stimulate both local and general immunity of the body.
