The polyurethane (PUR) nasogastric tube for enteral nutrition features a lubricated stylet. The device is equipped with a male ENFit connector specifically for enteral nutrition, which allows it to be connected to the female ENFit terminal connector on enteral nutrition sets and syringes to prevent improper connections (ISO 80369-3). Flocare nasogastric tubes are characterized by: male ENFit connector with closing cap, compatible with ENFit type syringes and incompatible with other connections (e.g. Luer lock) to ensure greater patient safety and avoid improper connections; three radiopaque lines that allow you to evaluate the correct positioning of the probe; two different graduated notches, blue in colour, with intervals of 2 cm and 1 cm; distal end with two lateral holes and one apical one; mandrel (=metal guide wire) coated in silicone to facilitate the positioning and reinsertion procedure into the probe in order to remove any sediment that could cause obstruction of the probe itself. The device is free of latex and phthalates. The product is sterilized by ethylene oxide. Recommendations Polyurethane/silicone tubes should be lubricated only with water or water-soluble gel. The tubes should be washed before and after administering meals and medications, at least three times a day.
